Welcome to the San Juan Mountains Credit Union! In October of 1958, ten school district employees started the Montrose County Schools Credit Union. The office was started in a closet at the local junior high school and opened for an hour after school.

In 1996, we changed our name to San Juan Mountains Credit Union to better serve our employee groups and school districts through out Southwestern Colorado.

We now have an office with ten employees and we are open 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday thru Thursday,

Fridays from 9:00 am - 6:00pm and Saturdays from 9:00 - 12:00.

The credit union was started then on the concept of

"PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE,''

and that is still our main goal today!
