What is Credit Life and Disability Insurance?
- This type of insurance protects your family and your credit rating if you cannot repay your loan.
- Credit Life is life insurance on individual or joint signers of a loan with San Juan Mountains Credit Union. In the event of a death involving either an individual or either of the joint borrowers, the loan would be paid in full.
- Disability insurance is offered on the primary borrower of a loan with San Juan Mountains Credit Union. This insurance would make the monthly payment after the primary borrower has been disabled for 30 days. The insurance would continue to make payments to the loan as long as the borrower is not able to work.
- The cost for this insurance is minimal. It is added to your payment each month, but it is not added into the principal of your loan, therefore you do not pay interest on the insurance premium.
